Medical School researchers were awarded $19.3 million in NIH grants to identify and molecularly map senescent cells. This multi-institutional effort is referred to as SenNet and consists of two grants, each supporting a tissue mapping center. Dr. Laura Niedernhofer will lead a project focused on human tissue supported by a five-year grant worth $8.5 million.
