As part of a national network for pandemic preparedness, the U of M-led Midwest Antiviral Drug Discovery Center received $66 million in federal funding to develop new antiviral drugs for flaviviruses (like Zika and West Nile), filoviruses (such as Ebola), and arenaviruses (for example, Lassa).
