This year marks the 40th anniversary of Dr. John Najarian's performing a liver transplant on the youngest patient ever, 11-month-old Jaime Fiske. With a failing liver in an era when organ transplantation was only experimental, Jaime was not expected to reach her first birthday. The surgeon took a chance, and the rest is history.
