Midwest AViDD Center Announces $3 Million in Funding for New Projects

The Midwest AViDD Center, led by Dr. Fang Li, announced $3 million in funding for six new projects furthering antiviral drug discovery. The Center, housed at the University of Minnesota, unites researchers from institutions across the country to conduct innovative, multidisciplinary research in the development of antiviral treatments for SARS-CoV-2 and other viruses with high potential to cause future pandemics. The Midwest AViDD Center received numerous applications for funding from around the globe, which resulted in a highly competitive process. Grant applications were ranked by the Center's Executive Leadership Team and Scientific Advisory Board. Final funding decisions were made by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
