The University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth Campus, has the distinction of having graduated the second largest number of Native American or Indigenous medical professionals in the nation. Its graduates have gone on to take leadership roles in Native health programs, like Dr. Mary Owen in Duluth, and Dr. Erik Brodt at the Oregon Health & Science University and Dr. Jason Dean at the University of Washington.
