Melissa Cedars and Kate Root, researchers in the Regal Lab in the Biomedical Sciences Department, developed simple hands-on human biology experiments and activities for the campers. Over the week, students learned how to extract DNA from fruits and vegetables, conducted an eggsperiment, looked at blood samples under a microscope, collected outdoor samples to view in a microscope, and documented their findings on a lab notebook, just like real scientists!
