When you look at the history of our Medical School--all 135 years of it--you see a remarkable and reassuring pattern of encountering challenges and surmounting them to continue on. In our world, in our work, challenges are a given. The norm, not the exception. Our predecessors persevered through social upheaval like wars and scientific revolution like the discovery of DNA. We've faced our own challenges in the trials of the pandemic and the evolving transformation of the study and practice of medicine. All this is to say, we are weathering some ups and downs at the moment, but through it all the work and commitment of our faculty, staff and learners shines through. I hope you can find a moment to celebrate what your colleagues have been doing and to remember to share what you are doing also!
